| Hans Herold |
Hans Herold was born in Munich, Germany and studied under Prof. Karl Maxon, University of Munich. He came to Canada in 1957 and studied under Prof. Nick Seminoff, University of Saskatchewan, Saskatoon in 1961. Herold participated in Emma Lake Artists'
Workshops and had studio visits and art critiques by renowned New York art critic Clemment Greenberg.
Hans Herold loves painting the Saskatchewan landscape and his paintings are exhibited in galleries across Canada and hang in many corporate and
private collections. After he moved to Vancouver Island, the paintings of Hans Herold took on another new direction, reflecting the colours and floral beauty of British Columbia. Hans Herold also had a special talent for capturing the rocky
outcroppings and forested islands of the northern lakes and wilderness areas of north of La Ronge and Waskesiu in Saskatchewan.
As well as painting with acrylic on canvas Herold has also demonstrated his ability to paint beautiful watercolours.
The watercolours are usually done on location and are quick impulsive pieces that capture the essence of the landscape.
