Glenn Veeman was born in British Columbia, but was raised in a small town near Outlook, Saskatchewan. Like many Saskatchewan artists, Veeman happily remembers participating in artists' workshops at Emma Lake.
Veeman loves the lakes, rivers and
trees of Northern Saskatchewan. In July 1999, Glenn produced an excellent show of large paintings called "Regeneration" at the Rosemont Art Gallery in Regina. Several paintings show this love for the landscape.
Norman Zepp wrote this in his
essay about Glenn's show Regeneration: "Glenn Veeman is a landscapist with fine instincts for composition and colour...their intensity (large scale works) aroused me to declare that first and foremost here was a colourist in the finest abstract
tradition."
