Anne Meggitt born in 1930 and raised in England, started painting at an early age.

She studied at Reading University, under Anthony Betts who had been a student of Walter Sickert and obtained the National Diploma of Design in Painting. Soon after, Meggitt journeyed to Africa where she lived in three African countries, on perpetual safari, before settling in North Borneo for seventeen years.

In 1977, Meggitt moved to the Canadian prairie where she explored and painted Saskatchewan's valleys and lakes before venturing further afield into B.C. Further inspiration was provided by the supportive tutelage of Ted Godwin and three summers in the wilderness of the Emma Lake Artist Workshops. She sought to broaden her subject matter when she travelled to China for river scenes and old Ming gardens, Spain for the Alhambra Palace gardens and Menorca's rocky island landscape, as well as England and Ireland's rolling terrain.

In more recent years, the pursuit of rocky formations has led Meggitt to Australia's Blue Mountains and Flinders Ranges, the B.C. Rockies, Montana's Glacier National Park and the Okney Isles of Scotland.

Anne's paintings are in the collection of the Canada Council Art Bank, Saskatchewan Arts Board, Moose Jaw Art Museum, corporate and private collections.
